FAQ:

1) Who can book this space?

Anyone! All you need to do is fill out our new client form (if this is your first time booking with us) and submit a request for an available time slot as seen on our calendar. All THHT alumni and current participants will be able to access the studio either at no cost or with a discount. We have allocated times for free or subsidized access (listed in a following section) for our THHT members as well as allocated time for the general public to book and use the studio.

2) What are the rates and when can we book?

THHT PARTICIPANTS

Our studio space is open and available Monday - Friday for THHT member use only. 3:30pm - 7:00pm (M-F) are open studio hours for current THHT participants. This is free studio time if you are currently and still eligible to participate in THHT teen programming. 7pm - 10:30pm (M-F) are open studio hours for THHT alumni. This is free studio time if you have participated in THHT in the past but are no longer eligible for our teen programming. 9am - 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays is free and open studio time for all current participants and alumni of THHT. From 4pm - 11pm (Sat and Sun) the space becomes open to the general public. THHT participants (past and present) can still book during this time at $20/hr ($15/hr without an engineer).

GENERAL PUBLIC

Saturdays and Sundays are open to the public from 4pm - 11pm. You can rent our space in 1 hour increments at a rate of $40/hr ($30/hr without an engineer).

For both THHT participants and General Public, you can submit a booking request through our form 24/7. Someone will respond to you to confirm your request in 24 hours from when you place it. You must submit any booking requests 48 hours before your session. You can also email us directly if you have a last minute booking that you would like to place. You can only request time if it’s shown as available.

3) Will there be anyone to help me in my session?

Yes! for every session, there will be a studio monitor present. They can assist you with any specific needs you may have (within reason) while in your session. During the hours of 4pm to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday, clients can request the monitor to engineer / run their session. You can opt to engineer your own session as well but you will need to participate in a studio orientation before doing so. For open studio hours for THHT participants and alumni, our studio monitor will be able to assist you in recording and capturing your ideas.

4) What happens at the end of my session?

You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself. Please allocate at least 10 minutes of your scheduled time for clean up and resetting the space for the next client. This is a community space and we can only keep it that way if the room stays clean and manageable for everyone who uses it. It is YOUR responsibility to save and take your files with you. We are not responsible for any file management.

SPACE USAGE:

THHT Studio Policies

  1. A 50% deposit is required within 24 hours of making a reservation, and the remaining balance must be paid upon arrival and before your session can start. If paying in cash, you can contact our studio email to set up a time to drop off deposit.

  2. The 50% deposit is fully refundable unless the reservation is canceled less than 24 hours before its start time.

  4. If you book time and do not show up, you are responsible for the session’s total value.

USING THE SPACE

Load in + load out times

The load in time for all sessions is right at the time that the reservation begins. Be sure to build adequate load in and load out time into your reservation plans.

Load out ends at the time that the reservation ends. Clients are responsible for making sure their entire party is packed up and out of the room by their session’s end time. This includes normaling the room and returning it to its default state, as well as copying session files when applicable.

Engineers listed on recording sessions are equally responsible for making sure their entire party is loaded out on time, and cannot leave a session until all of the equipment that was used has been torn down and returned.

Normaling the room

For all sessions the client is responsible for returning the room to its default or “normaled” state. Engineers listed on recording sessions are solely responsible for making sure the studio is normaled properly, including breaking down and consolidating any gear that doesn’t live in the room.

If you’re not certain what “normaled” means in the room you’re in, don’t hesitate to ask.

Smoking/Alcohol

Smoking, alcohol and other illicit drugs are not permitted in the studios and within the building’s premises.

Modifying the space

Please check with THHT staff before making any physical modification to the space, including but not limited to: hanging anything in the studio, taping to walls/wallpaper, moving furniture, etc.

File + Data Management

We are not responsible for your files. Always make sure you take your sessions with you.
